Awesome, well thanks for doing all of that @Mac. I’m sure it will come in handy for Team Sanderson when the time comes for Warbreaker 10th Anniversary.

If I were so inclined for the purposes of a game like this I could make a few educated guesses and come up with Breath-requirement rules... but as you've pointed out, your abstraction is perfectly functional and all that's really required. (Though I dunno if you saw my thoughts about environmental color in your document)

And to be bluntly honest I think that as written they are actually pretty inconsistent. By the time I was done my main thought was, I sorta hope this document provides a bit of a map to Peter so he can point out the most egregious confusions, like when Vasher, who clearly has more Breath than Vivenna, uses it all up to do three Awakenings, then Vivenna does the exact same three and has enough left over to do an Awakening that earlier took Vasher "hundreds of Breaths".

Even applying what I think I've determined about body focus, I don't see any other situations similar enough to draw any manner of conclusion. And our lack of specific knowledge about how much Breath any given thing took is a huge roadblock.

So, sadly, the conclusions I did draw are all the ones i think I will. I can show you the raw data, and I'm open to anyone suggesting other avenues I can explore.

@Mac: I'm very interested to see where you go with your Awakening analysis and what conclusions you draw. When I made the Awakening rules I mostly went with a "what feels right" approach in regards to both representing the book and abstracting it enough to make for good gameplay, so if I ended up way off the mark somewhere I'd be curious to find out. Also, re: Awakening takes one heightening's worth of Breath: A big part of that was the abstraction/simplification for easy game play, but keep in mind too that if you roll well enough (ie: get enough nudges) you can spend them to prevent dropping down a Heightening. Hopefully that will represent (well enough) that at the higher Heightenings you have enough Breath to perform numerous Awakenings without dropping down in Heightenings significantly.

Skull, you can also check out my Awakening analysis if you want to get a sense for how I, as a Narrator, might rule what is/isn't possible as far as Awakening. Granted, Hero's rules (which is what I assume we'll be going by) make it clear that any and all Awakenings take one Heightening's worth of Breath, and that was the main thrust of my analysis. So... possibly not as helpful as it might be.

For anyone interested, I just did a breakdown of all the starting character options and which ones save you the most AP. I posted the results over on Crafty Games' forum. Also, FYI for those of you who are thinking about playing around with my Awakening or Shardbearer home-brew rules: some minor changes are coming to the rules, partially as a result of this little study on starting character options.

@Gargoyle: I was Spook (Survivor of the Flames) for Halloween last year, and made myself a couple solid oak dueling canes. I reused the costume for one of Brandon’s signings in December, so you can see it on Brandon’s website. It’s not the greatest of pictures, but you can see the dueling canes in it at least. :)

Crafty responded to this question on their forums and said no- damage reduction is not meant to stack. This includes things like the denser tissues stunt combined with wearing armor. We’ve tried combining them before (see the Futile Efforts subforum) and it can create some pretty broken shenanigans.
