Wow, cool. I didn't know that!

Phantom found the link and provided it on Reddit, apparently I was misremembering. They are the ones who came up with breath for cadmium.

Yes I heard that as well. I don't remember where to provide you with a source, but yeah when they started making the MAG not all of the feruchemical powers were fleshed out and Crafty suggested caloric energy. Or maybe it was the breath, or both.

Has anyone else heard that Crafty came up with bendalloy being able to store hydration as well as food, and Brandon liked it so much he canonized it? Or am I making that up?

Yes, he is fantastic. Nails the emphemeral haunt of he first part. Wonderful singer.

Did you check the link? That is him singing, albeit last year at some other location.

Omigod that is one of my favorite songs! Phantom was the first Broadway Musical I ever went to. And it's got a wicked range. Your friend must be very talented. I think if I heard it live again I would seize.

Hrm. Re-reading Alloy. The Breaknaught is guarded by Tekiel's private security force. They even have internal ranks. There's no formal army of Elendel, but I feel like it might be interesting to write a story about a House with a large "security force" and... I dunno where to take it, I'm very tired and rugby'd out.

He was also kind enough to be talked into giving a live sample of Music of the Night, proving to me once again just how much more amazing live performance is for high-level music.

When I mentioned the name, he said, "Oh yeah, I've performed with her before." I guess professional opera is one of those small crowd occupations.

I'd be shocked if they hadn't heard of her. She's pretty famous in the opera world.

Neat. I have an opera singer / teacher guesting in my house right now. I might ask if he has heard of Renee Fleming.

This probably won't mean anything to most of you (except Claincy... Maybe) but tonight I got to go an Opera fundraiser featuring Renee Fleming- one of (if not THE) best opera singers alive. Totally blew me away. I've never enjoyed the opera like I did today.

Bobby: That's a great idea, if you think you have time we should establish that you were part of a small caravan and a few survivors make their way in. Everyone else: Machete Mistborn is done. I've made it as nice and neat as I know how. I hope you enjoy. Thinking of posting it to Reddit?

Aw, thanks Mac! I haven't jumped in cause my final semester just started, and it's been a hellish couple weeks! I'm barely keeping up with Narrating. Would you like a fourth? If yes, I think I'll ditch the hounds and play someone who stumbles on the town, perhaps running from the Koloss (thus missing the first bit of the adventure, haha).

Kay am I the only Narrator who lives his life in paranoid fear that one of his players can read the Notes?
Mon Sep 11, 2017 3:22 pm
Claincy: I promise the delay is because I am working on something diabolical. I mean wonderful! Bobby: Jump on in, the adventure is fine!

HA! My friend got the event where she cut off her own left hand and replaced it with "an item". The item was... a pair of gloves. It was both so appopriate and so weirdly sad.

(Disclaimer: Betrayal is the most-played board game at our house, mainly because my wife and I both love it. We picked up the second edition when it came out and by the time the expansion was released our original game was so worn out that we bought a new copy to replace it. It's the only board game that I have literally played to death. :D )

Re:betrayal: yeah, such is the case with Betrayal, unfortunately. Even the baseline rules from the main rulebook aren't very streamlined and it took us ages to figure out the right way to do some things. The Individual haunt rules are even worse, and the expansion is pretty terrible. However, Betrayal isn't a game you play for the technical precision of the rules, but rather for the experience of exploring the haunted house and discovering and dealing with a different eldritch horror each time. @SirJerric: they are about to release a fantasy-themed version of it called Betrayal at Baldur's Gate- perhaps that will be more to your taste. ;)

Other options are paying them to the Active Player (*shudder*) or destroying them (there aren't enough lurchers for that to end well).

I stand by my House War ruling as my playtest rules do include a direct statement. And because it is the only thing that makes sense. =)

I'm not a horror aficionado, so I don't own Betrayal (though I might change that some day). I can understand a lack of clarity due to the scenario-exclusive rules for each Haunt. As for going too fast, that depends on how much working space is available and the distance between the objectives, or the heroes' firepower/defense if combat is the theme.

I played a game of Betrayal at the House on the Hill today and the rules of the Haunt were tremendously unclear. I also find that the Haunts in that game tend to be ridiculously fast-paced. Like it would be nice if we had even just two full rounds to accomplish this relatively complicated thing before the entire house was engulfed.
