I do. I saw it but didn’t have a chance to reply until just now. ;)

Does @Herowannabe know that someone's trying to pick a fight with Kurz in Ruin Raisers?

@Zath: Oooh, intriguing scenario.

One (albeit very contrived) scenario in which storing fSteel might be helpful: Bob the Steelrunner is just about to throw a knife at an enemy when that enemy turns around and (gasp) it's Bob's long-lost childhood friend! Bob, still in the middle of his throw, stores Steel to rob the throw of its power, thus sparing his friend injury. But yeah, storing fSteel is mostly detrimental.

Yeah, makes sense. Darn. I was hoping I could use storing to my advantage too.

I consider F.Steel to be storing the body's operational speed (some call this metabolism). I would not define it as storing the feruchemist's kinetic energy (what you would need to affect falling). That would be a VERY different power.

@Cabochard, I'd say fSteel only stores personal speed like response time and the ability to move your own body at a faster/slower pace, and wouldn't affect how your body responds to gravity or pure friction-less momentum (like falling through the air).

So, with steel-storing - does it only store personal speed (the kind you generate from running and walking) or could you also store to slow down if you were falling or thrown (or jumping off a train and wanted to land safely)?

Sure! In the OB spoilers thread. ;) when the 17th shard lifts its OB spoilers restrictions then it’ll be okay to discuss it in the chat box here.

are we okay discussing OB now?

And if you take increased velocity, you'd still be dealing more damage with a gun. Makes sense. You miss out on the bulletpush stunt too, I assume.

By Steelpushing a bullet without a gun, the trade off is the minimized damage. Most guns add more than one point of damage (AoL pgs 115-116), but a small projectile does only +1 damage (MAG pg 312).

Okay, I see. Thanks!

1) I would totally allow steel deflection to work on bullets, though probably with a negative circumstance due to the speed. 2) what DA said. 3) Sure, it’s just the same as steelpushing coins or bullet casings or any other small bits of metal.

Yes. The Increased Velocity stunt explicitly affects bullets (read the character sheet for Push in the Alloy of Law sourcebook). Steel Deflection may or may not work on bullets, depending on your narrator. As for skipping the gun entirely, I'd say yes, but it would be a game breaker, so no.

I guess there's sort of three questions in one. 1: Can you use Steel Deflection to deflect bullets, or are they too fast? 2: Is there anything you can do steel-wise to assist a bullet fired out of a gun? 3: Can you steelpush bullets at people, bypassing the gun entirely?

Do you mean trying to attack someone by steelpushing a bullet at them or deflect a bullet that someone shot at you?

How does steelpushing a bullet work mechanically (without using the penetration stunt)?
