History: Belmur grew up as a plantation skaa but joined the Lord Ruler's army to escape that life. His younger brother also joined up.

Bel served as a soldier for about a year. In the stress of their first battle, against a raiding band on the edge of the burnlands, both men Snapped. His brother's abnormal strength drew the attention of their commander, and he was taken away by the Steel Ministry. Bel did not discover his own Allomantic power until several months later, upon accidentally swallowing a copper coin he had been attempting to hide in his mouth. When he did, he realized why his brother had been taken.

At that time, his unit was stationed near Urteau. Embittered against the Final Empire, he deserted and joined that city's criminal underground as a highly valued Smoker. He worked with crews in Urteau, then Luthadel, for most of his adult life. Eventually he came into contact with Alvern and joined the Canton of Heterodoxy...

But seriously, burden protection for a Soldier like Bel would be insane! And you're already a Plantation Skaa anyway.

Yeah, except that I don't own the Skaa book ;) ... May get it though.

But the real reason I picked Slow-Burning Copper instead of one of the Mental Protection stunts was that I see Bel as being highly paranoid about the Ministry and thus he wants to keep his Coppercloud up as much as he possibly can. He'd have it up 24/7 if he could.

As we said elsewhere, we aren't inclined to share ALL the stunt rules if you don't already have the book. But if there's a stunt that sounds interesting to you and you want to get it, then I don't mind making an exception for that stunt (check out the link, Kadrok give a good, non-spoilery review of the various Skaa stunts).

Skaa Toughness gives you a slight boost to your Health, and makes it a little easier to recover from Physical Burdens. Again, if that sounds interesting and you want to take the stunt, we'll tell you what it does.

EDIT: Not trying to persuade you one way or the other. Your current set up and your motivations for taking Slow-Burning are great as is. I just want to keep you informed of your options. ;)

Yeah, I was mostly kidding, I'll probably get the book anyway.

But I do think Slow-Burning Copper is a better fit for the character, even if not as directly powerful.

Still looking for a Destiny...

Well, what does Belmar hope to accomplish with his life? That's a hard one to answer for everyone except you, but it seems to me that something like "build a better life for my family" or "establish a safe place for my friends" would be fitting. Or you could do something different and pick a destiny like "find a nice girl and get married and settle down.

The thing that fits the best would probably be something like "make a safe place for skaa Allomancers". Seems a bit grandiose given the FE setup, but...

Also, your destiny doesn't have to be as big as "Make the world a safe place for allomancers." It can be something on a smaller scale, like "make a safe place for allomancers."
