Current Resiliences
Health: 8/8
Reputation: 6/6
Willpower: 11/11

Backstory: (Pre-crew draft)
Grant is a young man who used to daydream about exploring the Roughs and traveling the Basin. He would make off with his father's broadsheets and read the articles about far away places. Someday, he would tell himself, I'll be a traveling reporter and see the world and have amazing adventures.

He mentioned his dreams of working for the broadsheets to his parents, and they encouraged him to study hard in grammar classes. They helped him get a place with the local broadsheet office and everything else a supportive parent could do.

The placement wasn't as a roaming reporter. Nor was it as a journalist. Grant suspects that his parents landed him in a cubicle on purpose. His mother never had approved of "steel-running" around the neighborhood during his grammar school years. Instead of amazing sights and revelatory journalism, Grant has a dusty, paper-strewn desk. A couple of kerosene lamps keep him company during the long hours of crossing t's and dotting i's (Turns out that most of those glorified journalists can barely spell).

After a few years of soul-crushing office work, Grant meets Red [or whomever] at a cafe. Their first conversation lights Grant's pewter [metaphor only ;) ], and they start finding some after-hours "adventures" of their own. Grant proves to be an able scrapper, and a fine shot to boot.
(Still open to suggestions)

Quick question: what's up with the "Code" box that all your attributes and etc are in? Just curious why you decided to format it like that.

Mac got it in one. =) I suppose I could use tables, but they are more involved.

I copied over the draft backstory. I'm still flexible if the other players want to build in more relationships.

Also, the Narrator offered ten initial advancements, which I haven't spent. I might do another trait and a point toward resources, perhaps?

I also need a drive and a destiny, so if anyone sees an idea in the backstory, let me know?

You could always go with straight from your backstory:

Drive: seek adventure (this would probably necessitate a change in your personality trait)

Destiny: Witness an event that changes the world

Soooo . . . since you seem to have the full Masks text already, can I prevail on you to send me the full text of the melee gunplay stunt on 70-71 (PM is fine, if you prefer)? It sounds like something Grant would spend Advancements on, but I don't want to hold up play until Crafty gets the PDFs out to the KS backers.

Also, I'll take your Drive and Destiny suggestions. Thanks. =)

You're welcome!

Yeah, I'll just put it here. It's pretty cool, for sure!

Point Blank: You are skilled at using your guns at extremely close range. You can fire a gun with a minimum Range of Close at Striking Range instead. Attacks made with guns at Striking Range cannot be aimed.
Additionally, you may use your gun as a melee weapon - a useful tactic when you're out of ammo! A pistol used as a melee weapon has a Damage of +1 and min/max of Touch/Touch, while a rifle, shotgun, or other longarm has a Damage oof +2 and a min/max range of Striking/Striking.

Very nice. I've purchased that stunt and a point of resources with the bonus advancements, which also bumped my health and allowed me to take a rope and grapple as my new prop. I think that should cover everything for my character, save for the Crew data.
