gold doesn't do willpower damage. It just reduces your willpower by 1 while you burn it. ;)
I think you actually do suffer 1 damage to your Willpower when you burn Gold. Let me check...
MAG pg 356 wrote:Burning Gold is mentally and emotionally taxing... ...Consequently, you lose 1 Willpower each time you start burning Gold.
It doesn't say anything about regaining that lost point of Willpower after you're done. Plus, if Gold only reduced your Willpower temporarily, then that would make the "Golden Will" Stunt mostly useless (also on pg 356 of the MAG).
Skullduggery wrote:Invalid dice code!

result of 3 or 2?
That's a Result of 3.
Your Result is the highest value shown by any matching set of dice, and it doesn't matter how many dice are in a set (as long as you have at least two, of course. Otherwise you wouldn't have a matching set :P ).

"I'd suggest you catch up with them and burn your copper so the rest of these idiots don't get themselves killed before the payoff. Any questions?"
Or is it just the power of luck finding What they want?
Yes. Apparently. That'll be 40 compounded charges, Evhar.
Well they were obviously talking before Abby arrived, so it's possible he told me that and I never claimed he was a smoker, you did @Der Alleskrieg using my character, so why do I lose chargers for something you did? :?

Edit: found the quote.
Der Alleskrieg wrote:Very well. Sorry to take so long. Abby's terrain description will go first, then Chaff and Kurz meeting the foreman.

Abby, finding that the plan lacked a backup lair and escape routes, and deciding that she didn't have any better way to spend her time, decided to explore the locale to find what was to be found and all that.

It is worth her time, for not only does she find six excellent escape routes (details later) and two viable backup lairs, but she also finds that one of those viable backup lairs, a very concealed cave which would be almost impossible for anyone who wasn't an experienced scout to notice without stumbling into it, housed some idiot with a dog (sorry, Skull). She probably would've either attacked or moved on, but the guy seemed to be having a conversation. She was about to leave when Evhar coincidentally noticed her and said "Abby, I believe we've found our smoker" (sorry, Conquestor).

Meanwhile, Kurz and Chaff have been escorted into the foreman's office. The foreman is a very fat man, but is somehow wearing clothes that are loose on him. Chaff briefly wonders if those clothes were made from a tent, but decides that they're too fancy. He has a dueling cane at his side, but his assured, domineering air implies that he rarely uses it. He has a cruel glint in his eyes, and both of you are suddenly very nervous.

"Hello." He says, an upper-class Rashekin aristocrat accent apparent in his voice "I have been told you wish to apply for a job at my mine. I am the foreman, Alloran Urvan. If you decide you want to work at my camp, you will refer to me as 'the boss' at all times. I will know".

I know it's not usually allowed, but you may make a Wits roll to detect his tampering even if he rolls ridiculously high. No traits positively or negatively apply, but Chaff gets a bonus die due to his nudge.

Why are we arguing about this?! It's like 4 charges of Luck (since compounded charges are 10x) and 1 Willpower. Why don't you both take the hit and we move on? It's not like it's going to be a big deal in the scheme of things.

Hell, if it's that much of an issue can I trade one of my Pewter Vials so they can keep their charges and Willpower through some Harmony/Ruin b******t?

EDIT: Sorry, that was way too aggressive. I didn't mean to yell at you guys, and I apologise. But I really think we're getting too wrapped up in minutia here.

I took the damage, I am not arguing against that. I argued for taking the damage while somebody thought it was just losing willpower when burning it or something and that was resolved

Your right, I'm sorry for holding up th game over 4 charges, I guess that playing plain ferruchemists before, I reacted to the 40 charges.

Evhar finally makes it to what he believes are the gates opposite to were Mr. Burn approached from, and starts yelling at any guards that are, well, guarding the gate.

Here is a charm roll, just in case I need it.

A few guards come out and ask you what you want. They appear to be hung over.

You see a possibility where you'd decided to attack instead of talk. That possibility is currently having his chest blasted open by Abby's shotgun. You sense that there are plenty of other possibilities where Evhar had won before Abby arrived. He's the resident luck magnet and can get about a bajillion rerolls.

Sorry, I didn't notice your posts and stuff at first. Everyone (including me) was busy arguing.

Der Alleskrieg wrote: The boss seems suitably impressed by you, and he tells you that you're both hired. He also tells you that you're going to get treated slightly better than the rest of the workers seeing as you decided to join yourselves instead of being made to, but neither of you are paying that much attention after the brief surge of relief you felt upon learning that you were hired. The feeling of quiet dread lingers, even after you are taken out of The Boss' presence. Chaff in particular seems extremely subdued, due to the resurgence of traumatic memories from his childhood. You are taken to the bunkhouse where you'll be sleeping and told you'll be going to work at 5 the next morning and to do whatever you feel like until then. One of the guards says something ominous about your "Last day of freedom" as they leave.
Chaff looks around the bunkhouse. It's cramped, the air is stuffy, and it smells. He'd expected nothing less.

Chaff flops down on his assigned bunk and closes his eyes. He feels strangely exhausted after his meeting with The Boss. Maybe Kurz would do something productive with their "last day of freedom," but Chaff can't summon the motivation to do much of anything.
Conquestor wrote:Evhar finally makes it to what he believes are the gates opposite to were Mr. Burn approached from, and starts yelling at any guards that are, well, guarding the gate.
Putting my not-very-relevant comments in OOC:
Out Of Character: Click to revealShow
I assume "Mr. Burn" is Chaff. ;) Maybe Evhar could make some business cards for The Scorchers to hand out to people: "Mr. Burn: Anarchy, Arson, and Murder, for an Affordable Price! Talk to your local malcontents for more info."
Chaff hears someone yelling in the distance. It's probably that Palsten kid, finally. Chaff wonders if the Luck Compounder is charming enough to prevent the guards from shooting him on the spot. Was that what Conquestor's Charm roll (Result of 3, IIRC) accomplished? i.e. not being attacked by the guards?
Der Alleskrieg wrote:You'll be there when Evhar makes his "application", so you can roll if you want,
but be careful. You don't know what kind of metalborn might be among the guards or even the servants!
So... Chaff lost a Beat because of his Tragedy, so I don't think I'd be able to do anything to help Conquestor anyways. If it takes longer than a single Beat for Evhar to get hired, though, I'd like for Chaff to be near enough to act.

Chaff suddenly remembers that they were supposed to leave some sort of signal for Bren. He grumbles, then swings his feet off the bunk and makes his way outside. Chaff looks for a comfortable place to stand around for 15 minutes so the young bandit can see him. He'll nod slowly, as if drowsy, and hopefully Bren will understand the signal and know that Chaff and Kurz had succeeded in infiltrating the mine. Possible chance for Cabochard to take an action...?

Kurz has nothing significant he wants to do for the rest of the day. He’s content to hang around Chaff and make sure nobody messes with him.
