The plan

Post by Kurkistan » Thu Aug 08, 2013 12:58 am

So, planning. I was planning on dying quickly and messily, but I suppose there are some matters to nail down first.

Resource-wise, my rolls paid off and we currently have an army of 20,000+5 Extras, a team of hazekillers, and a bodyguard for my character. Kage Jastes has 6 beads of atium. Vorun is poor as a poor person who is particularly poor, and still without armor.

I'm thinking we take him when he's touring the countryside? The army might not fit into the throne room.

Agreed. Further I would like to be positioned with forces between me and him, near cover and within steel range. We can't beat him at Melee. My actions will be taking shots at him, and using my reactions to keep the the heat off you guys in terms of ranged combat. I'm thinking we tackle him at range in as much as we can. The Hazekiller's have bows with flint arrows, they should probably be spread out (which nerfs their group combat, but we probably don't want all our eggs in one basket... ie one... position onto which a boulder could easily be hurled. If we can get heat coming at him from all sides we might be able to overwhelm him.

The Oracle can keep him in a fixed position and distracted so the archers and I can keep up the fire. He only gets 3 deflection per beat so some of that has to stick.

Hmm makes sense. Though my character is somewhat geared for cqc and just taking attacks in general. There is a good chance that he will still have multiple inquisitors around him which would likely try to stop your ranged strategy. Tyden could theoretically beat one or at least hold him off for quite some time. Truthfully he could probably keep 2 of them busy and away from ranged fighters for a time.

Keep forgetting crucial assets. So Oracle and Super-Vorun can tank. Vorun might try to hold him still. Iron should be handy for that. If you get his attention and Vorun can come from behind we can do a partial Goku-Picolo v. Raditz.

Ok, time for some resource rolling =)
First up attempting to get a Company. I don't want to try for higher than that, too little chance of success.
Claincy rolled 6d6:
4, 2, 2, 4, 2, 3

sweet, 500 soldiers.

now rolling for plate for Vorun (diff 4)
Claincy rolled 4d6:
5, 2, 2, 4

oops, not sure why i rolled 4 not 5, here's the last
Claincy rolled 1d6:
4

Yay! Vorun has plate armour. Hmm 4 resources left.

Awesome!!!! Now I can get thrown around!!! But now onto tactics. Do we want to hit fast and hard and give it all we got in one go or do we want to have a prolonged battle?

I doubt we could survive very long in an extended battle. The lord Ruler is most likely to be least ready for us and underestimate us at the start of the fight. That is when we need to hit him hard.

Agreed. And if he departs he can bring down armies of Koloss on us. Hard and fast.
